CapturePeople helping people is the credit union way. Health Care Family Credit Union (St. Louis) helped both car-driving consumers and hospitalized kids this summer. During the months of May, June and July, Health Care Family Credit Union raised more than two thousand dollars for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) through a special promotion called Drive It Forward. Here’s how it worked. For every person who financed a vehicle or transferred an auto loan from an existing lender during these summer months, the credit union donated a portion of the interest to CMNH. CMNH funds benefit St. Louis-area hospitals, including St. Louis Children’s Hospital and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center.  Health Care Family Credit Union serves members who work in the health care field, so donating to CMNH was a perfect fit. “Because Health Care Family is locally owned and managed, we’re focused on making contributions to the community – specifically, the St. Louis-area health care community,” said Health Care Family Credit Union President/CEO Terry Summers. “Our members truly enjoyed donating to support our local children’s hospitals.” Health Care Family Credit Union presented the $2,387 check to CMNH in August. The credit union thanked members for their efforts in making Drive It Forward a success on its website.  “We appreciate everyone who helped us make this donation to such a worthy organization.  We couldn’t have done it without you!” In 2012, credit unions in Missouri contribute $179,000 to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH).
