Grafton, ND - North Star Community Credit Union in Grafton ND is having a Backpack Exchange program this summer. Throughout the summer, the credit union is inviting the community to drop off their gently used backpacks. The credit union is then cleaning them, and placing Pee Wee Penguin items and other goodies inside of them. When it is back to school time, the credit union is going to have a special day for children to come with their parents to pick a "new to them" backpack for their new school year.
Backpacks can be expensive, and most children like a different one each year. This is a creative and fun way to recycle perfectly good backpacks and provide information to people in the community about credit unions at the same time.
