
Gulf Coast Educators employees donate $5 on select days to wear denim which goes toward donations to local charities or local branches of national charities. In December, there were $3,500 in the fund for toys and cash donations to support toy drives in each of the credit union’s local branch cities of Pasadena, League City and Pearland. The credit union employees finished the year with $7,589 in donations to charities through the denim days program.
Breakdown of 2014 Denim Day Funds:
$500 to the American Heart Association
$150 to the Texas Credit Union Foundation
$470 to UHCL Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities
$475 for Miracle Jean Day- Children’s Miracle Network
$200 to ALS Texas Chapter
$1500 to local food banks- Houston Food Bank and Galveston Food Bank
$794 to the Pasadena ISD Komen Team
$3500 for toys- Pasadena Police Department, League City Police Department and Pearland ISD
