MIDLAND, MICH., – Staff members at Dow Chemical Employees’ Credit Union raised $395 for the Autism Society of Michigan through their most recent “Jeans Day” fundraiser. For each of the one-day fundraisers throughout the year, participating DCECU employees donate a minimum of $5, which entitles them to wear blue jeans, tennis shoes and logoed attire to work that day.
The
Autism Society of Michigan (ASM) works to assure full participation and self-determination in every aspect of life for each individual by opening avenues of self-advocacy and by advocating on behalf of others. ASM – which promotes “making human connections” in a supportive, integrated community as a right of all persons – is committed to empowering individuals with autism and their families by offering educational resources and materials, workshops, seminars, and other services.
“Our staff truly believes in building a strong and healthy community, and our fundraisers and volunteer events are the direct result of our employees’ caring hearts,” said DCECU President/CEO Dennis Hanson. “I am proud of their dedication, and I know we are contributing to making the world a better place.”
