Credit unions raise over $470,000 to fight hunger

Musician Jonathan Edwards, center, was keynote speaker Wednesday, Feb. 13 at the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger Results Celebration. NorState Federal Credit Union, Acadia FCU, The County FCU, and University CU, with branches in Aroostook County, all participated in the campaign. Unveiling a check representing the “record-setting” amount of $471,744.42 that the campaign raised in 2012 are John Murphy, left, president of the Maine Credit Union League, and Luke Labbe, right, chair of the Maine Credit Union League’s Social Responsibility Committee.
