foothillFoothill Federal Credit Union  located in the San Gabriel Valley of California conducted a contest to award one lucky school with a break room make-over. Ben Lomond Elementary School from the Covina Valley Unified School District was chosen as this year’s make-over recipient. With the help of project partner, C.E. Fry Construction, groundbreaking began on Dec. 21, 2012. The work was set to continue through the school’s winter break. A grand reveal took place Monday Jan. 7, 2013 as faculty and staff returned to school. Principal Cheri Howell was informed in November that her school was chosen for the make-over. Principal Howell then called an “emergency staff meeting,” so that the Foothill Marketing Department could make the surprise announcement. Foothill employees arrived at the school wearing construction hats and carried balloons. To say the least, the school’s faculty and staff were very excited. Several elements were crucial in maintaining a comfortable and functional space for the school’s staff- a kitchen space, work space, TV and brand new appliances.  The grand reveal was a great success! The Ben Lomond staff was elated with the final outcome and couldn’t wait to begin using their new staff lounge
