CaptureFALL RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS - On Monday, November 23rd, nearly twenty St. Anne’s Credit Union employees, family and friends volunteered at the Sacred Heart food pantry and soup kitchen at St. Bernadette’s Parish in Fall River.  Earlier this year Fall River’s Sacred Heart Parish closed leaving their soup kitchen that St. Anne’s employees had volunteered at for years without a home.  St. Bernadette’s Parish on Eastern Avenue in Fall River was kind enough to take the food pantry and soup kitchen in and it reopened to the public in September.  This past Monday the food pantry and soup kitchen served the largest group of people they have seen so far at their new location in St. Bernadette’s.  Over 100 people visited the food pantry and Credit Union employees were happy to assist in the sorting and distribution of the pantry items to all those who came through.  Afterwards the St. Anne’s employees helped to served hot soup and chicken pot pie to all of the people who attended the meal.  St. Anne’s employees have volunteered their time twice a year at the Sacred Heart food pantry and soup kitchen, and are very happy to be able to continue doing so at St. Bernadette’s.   Seen in the picture are St. Anne’s Credit Union employees and family that volunteered at the Sacred Heart food pantry and soup kitchen.
