LOWELL, MA – Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union is honored to be one of the 2016 recipients of Ste Jeanne d’Arc School’s Elisabeth Bruyère Award. The Award was introduced in 2006 to honor individuals and organizations who are dedicated to serving Lowell and its surrounding communities.
At this year’s award dinner, held on March 31, 2016, Ste Jeanne d’Arc School recognized their esteemed partners in community banking. Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union was honored to be awarded alongside Enterprise Bank.
“We are extremely honored to receive the Elisabeth Bruyère Award from our friends at Ste Jeanne d’Arc School,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “Elisabeth Bruyère was an important part of the school’s history and we are thrilled to be a part of the legacy she left behind.”
Bruyère was the founder of the Sisters of Charity of Ottawa whose mission has been a cornerstone in Ste Jeanne d’Arc School’s staffing, administration and core values for over 100 years. Bruyère set forth in her own mission to be a provider of education and service in Eastern Canada. Within 30 years, she established many schools, boarding schools, homes for orphans and cared for victims of epidemics.
Today, Ste Jeanne d’Arc School recognizes Bruyère’s compassion and accomplishments to inspire their students and pay tribute to leaders in the community whose mission is driven by similar values.
