Align Credit Union Helps Families with Home Ownership

LOWELL, MA (April 8, 2016) — Align Credit Union is proud to announce that Jenny Sech has become the first Member of Align to purchase a home through Align’s Community Dream Mortgage Program. The Community Dream Mortgage Program is a special program in partnership with MassHousing, Merrimack Valley Housing Partnership and the Coalition for a Better Acre. Through this program Align has pledged $2 million to give families the opportunity to own their own home and help build strong, vibrant communities in Greater Lowell.
Jenny completed a six-week class through Community Teamwork (CTI) in Lowell. The course was taught by Jim Sullivan, Align’s VP of Community Development. After completing the class and receiving her certificate, Jenny applied for an Individual Development Account (IDA) Grant and received a three to one match on her savings for a downpayment. She then went to Align and got her mortgage through MassHousing and Align’s Community Dream Mortgage Program.
“I am just so grateful to have such a great team at Align. Words can’t express how I’m feeling,” said Jenny. “I can’t wait to start this new chapter of my life.”
