CaptureDuluth, GA (April 14, 2016) April is National Credit Union Youth Month. It is a month dedicated to encouraging youths to engage in a healthy relationship with money. The best method of teaching youths the value of “good” money skills is, inspiring them to save more. Credit unions are doing this all over the country by creating incentives to get young members to save during youth month. Last year, 125,188 young members deposited more than $23.5 million into their savings accounts during this national event. This year we want to save more. And to support the effort, Georgia United Credit Union will be hosting a Youth Month Financial Fitness Challenge that will help local youth strengthen their money skills and pump up their savings. All members 17 and under who make a deposit into their Georgia United savings account, during the Month of April, will be entered to win an iPad mini™. Six winners will be selected and winners will be announced on gucu.org on May 12th.
