Sioux Falls, SD - Each year, the Avera Race Against Breast Cancer brings together family, friends, cancer survivors and others to race towards a common goal — to enhance cancer care for people in Sioux Falls and surrounding communities.
Voyage Federal Credit Union has been a proud sponsor of the Avera Race Against Breast Cancer for eight years. At this year’s event, held May 7, 2016 in Sioux Falls, SD, Voyage Federal Credit Union took pictures of race participants and attendees at our booth in the Expo tent. For each person photographed in front of the Voyage “#LetsFindAWay” wall, Voyage donated $1. Photos were then posted on the credit union’s Facebook page. Voyage donated an additional dollar each time someone shared their story on the site, and one more dollar if they shared their story on their own social channels. Employees of Voyage FCU also formed a team to race in the 10K, 5K, 3 mile walk, and the 1.5 mile Family Fun walk.
“We are honored to support the Avera Foundation,” stated Darla Erb, CEO of Voyage Federal Credit Union. “It’s a fun way to get people involved. We help people find a way to achieve their financial goals all the time, so this seemed like a natural extension of that. Only now we’re helping people find a way to bring more funds to the causes they care about. We’re just glad to do our part”, she added.
