Belvoir Federal Donates Schools Supplies to Fort Belvoir Elementary School

Woodbridge, VA - Belvoir Federal Credit Union employee’s collected $615.00 in donations to help support elementary children purchase school supplies for the upcoming school year.


Belvoir Federal hosted one week of casual dress whereby employees could donate $3 per day or $10 for the week. From the nearly 80 employees at the credit union, over $600 was collected which went towards purchasing school supplies for the Fort Belvoir Elementary School.


The donations were used to purchase bag packs, folders, loose leaf paper, tissue boxes, glue, markers, crayons, chalk, erasers, pencils, composition books, rulers, pens, colored pencils, spiral notebooks, scissors, dry erase markers, pencil boxes, and articles of clothing for accident days, including underwear, sweat pants, t-shirts, and socks.
“Thank you Belvoir Federal. This will help the children of military families in transition and give the families one less thing to worry about… It helps the children feel confident and ready to learn while keeping the lending closet supplied for when the needs arise,” stated Florence Newsome (Parent Liaison), Ellen Bowditch (School Counselor), and Monica Crossley (Armed Forces Foundation School Counselor).
