OSU Federal has turned its longstanding commitment to legislative advocacy and community involvement into major donations to both causes, including $27,000 for two Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in Oregon.
First, the Corvallis-based credit union’s staff of approximately 200 employees showed its support for the credit union movement by pledging a record $17,000 to the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC). OSU Federal then matched that amount with a dollar-for-dollar donation to Credit Unions for Kids, which will distribute the funds to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland and PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene.
In addition, CO-OP Financial Services awarded a $10,000 Miracle Match grant to OSU Federal for the second year in a row. The result: a $27,000 donation to the hospitals.
“The Credit Unions for Kids effort actually started in the state of Oregon and spread nationwide,” says OSU Federal CEO Richard Hein. “Our OSU Federal team has found a way to invest in the credit union’s future and at the same time contribute to the future of kids. I couldn’t be more proud of their generosity.”
CO-OP Financial Services manages the CO-OP Miracle Match program on behalf of its 3,500-client credit unions. The program grants $1 million annually in matches to Credit Unions for Kids fundraisers. “It was great to once again combine forces with OSU Federal and approve another Miracle Match grant
