Credit Union Delivers Random Acts of Smiles to Community
April 19, 2013

Hudson - Customers at the Honey Dew Donuts in Hudson had much to “SMile” about on the morning of March 25. As part of St. Mary’s Credit Union’s 100th anniversary celebration, credit union employees stopped in to the Honey Dew Donuts and bought breakfast for more than 300 customers during a two-hour period.
This is just the first of several “Random Acts of Kindness” that the credit union plans to commit throughout 2013, one official said.
St. Mary’s Credit Union Marketing Vice President Anthony J. Battista explained the program as a way to express the company’s gratitude to the community.
“During our centennial anniversary year, we want to celebrate and thank the communities we serve,” Battista said. “Throughout the year we intend to show up unannounced as we have done today and perform ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ to show our gratitude.”
The recipients at Honey Dew were pleasantly surprised by the willingness of St. Mary’s to buy breakfasts for people who did not bank with them.
“We appreciate everyone in our communities,” Battista said, “even if they don’t bank with us.”
The credit union plans to commit several other Random Acts of Kindness in the Metrowest area at undisclosed times and locations throughout 2013.
